One million steps for one million victims. During two months, Gilles DUSABE walked around the Place des Nations in Geneva, taking one step for each life violently snatched away, as an artistic performance aiming to honor the memory of one million of people massacred during the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi of Rwanda, between April and July 1994. Initially planned as an individual experience, this project was transformed into a collective work, thanks to the solidarity of many walkers from Geneva and elsewhere. Over the days, they took turns by Gilles DUSABE’s side, to reach these million steps together and thus the performance became a happening !
